Asplum & Civil Managing Director, Ron Hughes, is a local born Centralian and through his companies, has provided plumbing services within the Central Australian region, remote and top-end communities for approximately thirty years.
Over the past 15 years the Company has expanded its core business to specialise in Civil Works projects, and now operates a fleet of plant and machinery for this purpose.
Asplum & Civil employs qualified engineers, operators and plumbers and brings its established trade expertise to large infrastructure projects.

Asplum & Civil is committed to Indigenous employment, training, and career advancement across Central Australia. Guided by our Indigenous Development Policy, we aim to create real opportunities that support long-term economic participation and community growth.
We actively seek Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates for employment, apprenticeships, and training pathways. Our goal is to reach at least 30% Indigenous representation across our workforce. New employees are supported through mentoring, role-specific training, and cultural onboarding to help them thrive in their careers.
We continue to grow this representation through local partnerships and recruitment programs. We also prioritise working with subcontractors and suppliers who demonstrate a commitment to Indigenous engagement.

Community Support
Asplum & Civil is pleased to support community events and assist sporting clubs or individual sportsmen or women achieve their goals. Limited sponsorship is available annually, on application to the Manager.
We regularly supports Tangentyere Council's Central Australia Youth Link Up Service [CAYLUS] in their efforts to support local initiatives that address substance misuse among young people throughout the region https://caylus.org.au/donate
and annually supports the work of the Salvation Army.
Contractor Accreditation
Asplum & Civil maintains annual CAL registration levels appropriate to the delivery of Civil, Earthworks, Plumbing and Gasfitting projects and services.
Contractor Accreditation Ltd (CAL) is a non-profit company established by the NT Chamber of Commerce, the Master Builders Association NT and the NT Small Business Association to manage a scheme of self-regulation for the building and construction industry. CAL also proudly supports Territory business through its close links with the NT Industry Capability Network (NTICN).
Registered Builder
Asplum & Civil is registered (Reg No 202717CR) with the NT Building Practitioners Board, to undertake building and construction projects in the category Building Contractor Residential (Restricted). Recently completed building project includes a 4 x 2 storey Townhouses at Irrampenye Street, Mt Johns, Alice Springs. See pic above. Current project – duplex at 155 Cromwell Drive, Desert Springs.
